I was very honored to host in my residence a small gathering of eminent representatives of science. The occasion was the awarding of the Israeli Wolf Prize to brilliant French microbiologist, geneticist and biochemist Professor Emanuelle Charpentier – who is conducting research in Sweden.
The highly prestigious Wolf Prize is awarded every year in memory of German-born inventor Ricardo Wolf. Professor Charpentier – who in the meantime has also received the Nobel Prize – was awarded the prize already last year but because of the global Corona pandemic the formal ceremony could take place only now.
